In October 2022, I had emergency spinal surgery and was diagnosed with a rare condition called Cauda Equina Syndrome. After being discharged from the hospital I wasn't given a protocol for recovery. I was bed-ridden. I needed the aid of a walker to move around my house and had issues with my bowels and bladder. I believed I could heal, but I couldn’t do it on my own, and needed help.
